American Association of Medical Colleges (AAMC)—January 22. Tom Gilmore will be delivering three sessions at the Executive Development Seminar for Deans. The topics of the sessions will be "Critical Issues Facing Academic Medical Centers," "Campaigns as a Vehicle for Organizational Change," and "Creating Effective Organizational Roles and Processes."
Temple University—January 27. Barry Dornfeld will present a session entitled "Psychological Aspects and Personal Dynamics of the Operation and the Transfer of the Family Business" in Temple's law school program, "Planning for the Family that Owns and Operates a Business."

The William Alanson White Institute—April 5. Larry Hirschhorn will present a workshop entitled "The Psychodynamics of Strategy." In this workshop, Larry will present his thinking about strategy and its connection to psychodynamic theory. Using his own examples and drawing on participants’ experiences, Larry will bring the group into conversation about the dynamics of strategy.
Northeastern University Center for Family Business—April 7. Barry Dornfeld and Jerrel Jones will conduct a session entitled "Succession Planning: Unforeseen Issues" as part of the Center's core program. This interactive program will address how family businesses can prepare for a potential succession event, and identify a few critical steps to ensure that their business is prepared for both the expected and unexpected. Bryn Mawr College—April 23. Linda May will be teaching a session on "The Campaign Model for Change" in the College's Nonprofit Executive Leadership Institute. More information can be found on the program website.
Institute for Health Metrics—April 28. Jennifer Tomasik and Linda May will lead a webinar entitled "Collaborative Quality, the Success of Physician/ Nurse/Quality Alliances," where they will discuss how the University of Pennsylvania Health System put in place a flexible accountability structure on the clinical frontline—a unit-based Physician Leader and Nurse Leader who manage quality on their hospital unit, with a unit-based Quality Leader who brings real-time data to the decision making.

The Yankee Alliance—May 4-6. Mal O'Connor will be presenting a workshop entitled "Overcoming Implementation Obstacles." All organizations face resistance when they try to implement new ideas. This presentation will introduce ideas and concepts that will improve acceptance of the next project or idea you introduce.
Special Libraries Association, Philadelphia Chapter—Karen Silverman was awarded the President's Cup by the group. The award is given to a member who has made significant contributions over many years showing leadership, vision, and initiative.
Philadelphia Human Resource Planning Society—June 8. Barry Dornfeld is a co-designer of an interactive workshop entitled "Creativity, Collaboration & Design Thinking." This session will focus on design thinking as a process for improving collaboration, innovation, and learning in organizations. More information about the workshop can be found on the group website.
IPOM—June 11 and 12. Larry Hirschhorn will give a presentation entitled "Organizational development in a hospital system: A Case Study" and will lead a workshop on the Psychodynamics of Strategy

American Hospital Association Leadership Summit—July 22-24. Linda May with PJ Brennan, Joan Doyle, and Victoria Rich of the University of Pennsylvania Health System, will present a session entitled "Leadership “Machinery” for Transitions-in-Care at Penn Medicine". This talk is aimed at what senior executives can do to focus the attention of their health systems, to mobilize energies, and to align and integrate the efforts of other players.
George Washington University—July 23. Larry Hirschhorn will give a presentation on "Tools for Strategy Development and Execution" at the Graduate School of Political Management's International Workshop on Political Management for Change Projects,
ABIM Foundation —August 3. Larry Hirshhorn will be facilitating the closing remarks and summary from the organization's annual forum.

September 30. Linda May with PJ Brennan, Joan Doyle, and Victoria Rich of the University of Pennsylvania Health System, will present a session entitled " Realtime Readmissions Feedback at Penn Medicine—Making the Data Actionable". This interactive session focuses on the leadership structures and supports that make real time data actionable and invites participants to consider what might work in their own settings. Family Firm Institute—October 14, at the group's annual conference:
Nancy Drozdow and Barton Parrott will present a session entitled "Playing Multiple Games on the Same Field: Organization Design for the Evolving Family Enterprise.” This interative session demonstrates how a family can organize itself in ways that allow for expansion and diversification, while keeping the founding values intact.
Debbie Bing will present a session with Eric Allyn entitled "Leading from the Bench: A Live Case Study from the Fourth Generation." A fourth generation member of Welch Allyn discusses how the family has learned new behaviors to maintain competitive advantages.
Leaders for Today—October 22. Jennifer Tomasik will present a session entitled "Getting Ready: Proactively Preparing To Improve Integration In Healthcare Delivery" as part of the group's annual Healthcare Executive Retreat. The session will review trends driving integration and will introduce strategies hospital executives can use to build successful, collaborative alliances with other players in the healthcare system. Drawing on research, case examples and collaboration tools, Jennifer will discuss how leaders can assess options and build mutually accountable relationships.
