Nat’s early career experiences and success as an entrepreneur and executive laid the groundwork for his interest in collaboration, organizational networks, and knowledge management. Today, along with his CFAR colleagues, he helps clients understand and address intractable issues that don’t respond to traditional business tools and methods. Nat looks at problems holistically, recognizing that in any organization, alliance, or team, there are many factors that come into play in creating the challenges that become the visible symptoms of the problem.
Nat brings 25 years of experience to CFAR: first, building and leading two small, high performing technology organizations and more recently consulting to companies in a variety of industries and helping them improve organizational effectiveness, grow revenue, and increase innovation. Nat’s approach is based on uncovering, leveraging, and building critical, knowledge, expertise and relationships across and between organizations, groups, and individuals. Combining the disciplines of organizational network analysis, knowledge management, and collaboration, Nat’s passion is for helping clients to learn how to generate sustainable value.
Nat also believes that practice must be constantly updated and informed by both theory and real world experience. To that end, Nat is active in a number of organizations involved in the theory and practice of network analysis, knowledge management, organizational design, and complex adaptive systems and he uses his learnings from his participation to improve his own practices and knowledge.
