CFAR has a rich academic heritage, reflected in two values that shape our practice as consultants - inquiry and integrity. We believe in asking tough questions and working hard to uncover accurate and realistic answers. CFAR spun off from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania in 1987. Our Wharton ties continue in our collaboration with faculty, our teaching at the school and our hiring of MBA interns. With offices in Philadelphia, PA and Cambridge, MA, we work with faculty and hire interns from Wharton, Harvard, MIT and Tufts professional schools. Note that our name contains the word "applied." This means that we recognize the need for testing and shaping ideas in the real world, and that we know our clients want results. Indeed, we have a unique talent for applying the right ideas to mobilize peoples' energies towards achieving the organizations' strategic goals.
