What is your role at CFAR?
Senior Manager.
How long have you been with CFAR?
2010 through 2018, then affiliated in 2021, part-time from 2021-2022, and full-time again in July of 2022!
What do you enjoy most about your role?
Helping people doing great things do them even better.
What are three words you would use to describe CFAR?
Dynamic, warm, and busy.
What motivates you to go to work?
I think the biggest motivation is the appreciation we receive from clients, who look back on a successful project and say that they couldn’t have done it without us.
What has been your favorite memory at CFAR?
I really enjoy getting to MC the Yankee Swaps at the holiday parties 🙂
What is your favorite thing about working at CFAR?
There’s always a new client challenge to work on!
In five words or less, what advice would you give for others in your profession?
Companies are just people.
What book are you currently reading right now?
Termination Shock by Neil Stephenson.
What is your favorite book/podcast?
Right now, Mission to Zyxx (improv sci-fi comedy podcast).
If you could gain a new skill in 10 minutes, what would it be?
Coding in Stata or similar statistics software.
What are your top three publications that you read every morning?
The New York Times, Slate…does email from my kids’ school count?
What is one thing that made you smile recently?
My six-year-old beat me at Monopoly last week.
What’s one thing -either industry-related or not- you learned in the last month?
I learned about the six wives of Henry the 8th On a side note, the musical Six is really good!
If you could choose anyone as a mentor, who would it be and why?
Noubar Afeyan, Founder and CEO of Flagship Pioneering. A sharp thinker who knows how to get things done while sticking to his moral compass.
How do you define success?
I define success as the ability to gain both wealth and excitement for what you are doing at the same time—and not trading one for the other.
